Present Moments
Sharply you're jarred by reality's unfolding.
A cleavage in mundane time rips through.
The focus tunnels vision, burrows into the mind.
A best or a worst, the effect all the same.
Perhaps you felt present before.
Now that seems a fog.
Long moments gone, forgotten.
This moment here, forever,
Permanently etched deeply.
Seconds minutes; minutes spilling away
As you try to grasp.
Some moments shared
Others alone
Painfully or gratefully or mistakenly.
Choosing presence not allowed
For no choice offered; just forced.
A thousand, no million, small moments,
Singularly inconsequential
Jointly deterministic,
Leading to this--fatefully contingent.
Nothing hence unshaped
Dominos moved forever in time.
Nothing prior unconnected
Despite so unimportant, trivial.Discussion about this post
